On Saturdays throughout March, Northfield Arts Forum will be introducing you to different art forms. Each Saturday will see NAF hit a different ward within the constituency. Week One will see events all day at Weoley Castle Library.

11am-3pm Saturday 2nd March
Doodling with Thread 11.00am – 1.00pm Local textile artist Emma Ricketts will help you make your own wall art inside a frame to take home. Play and experiment with weaving, threading and knotting techniques. This workshop is suitable for children of 3 years and above. There will be chunky beads around and parents are responsible for making sure their child is safe during this session.
Opera Performance 1.30pm Come watch as Weoley Castle Library plays host to Opera Singer Byron Jackson. Opera is an amazing art-form which demonstrates the incredible power of the human voice. This performance promises to be a rare treat for Weoley Castle residents. Make sure you’re there to be part of it.
Recycled Art – Make ‘Smaugs’ with Sally Harper 11.00am – 3.00pm Sally ran a variety of events at last year’s Arts Trail – check out these rabbits she made with some year 3s at a local primary school. During the Weoley Castle Arts March day, Sally will be in the children’s section of the library, helping people to fashion mini Smaugs, using a large textile dragon for inspiration.
Opera Taster Workshop 2.00 -3.00pm Professional Opera Singer Byron Jackson introduces people to Opera in a one hour session. Places for this workshop are limited and offered on a first come, first served basis. Please email Laura at email@example.com to book your place.
