Pop down to the Ikon Gallery this weekend for an exhibition of art works created during a community project in the Northfield area.

The Northfield Showcase will exhibit art work made by parents and children from Rubery Children’s Centre, Deelands Hall Stay and Play in Frankley and St John the Baptist Church Stay and Play group in Longbridge.

Expect to see photographic portraits, poetry, drawings and urban chalk drawings along with details of the project so far, including photographs and artifacts of the different workshops led by Spoz, Craig, Meredith and Nikki.

The project, led by Emma Bowen at the Ikon Gallery, offers parents and children in this area to experience more in the creative arts with opportunities they may have never been offered before.

Having opened on Thursday, the Ikon in Northfield Showcase will continue Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd February 2013, 11am-6pm.

On Saturday 2nd, Emma will also be hosting Family Saturday at Ikon on Saturday 2 February, with free arts activities for families and see the exhibition at the same time.
