Miranda Close

Police have revealed that the couple’s young daughter called the emergency services to the address where the bodies of a man and a woman in their thirties were discovered this morning.

The couple have been named by West Midlands Police as Suzanne Van Hagen aged 34 and John Worton aged 37.

When the 9 year old girl awoke this morning she could not rouse the pair and called an ambulance.

An ambulance crew attended the address and police were alerted at around 10am. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The youngster was taken to hospital to be checked over and is now being cared for by her grandparents, supported by specially trained officers.

Earlier, West Midlands Police released an appeal following the tragic discovery of the two bodies at a home in Miranda Close, Frankley this morning.

DCI Wayne Jones said at the scene this afternoon that, at present, the deaths are being treated as unexplained but that all possibilities are being investigated. He said that the woman’s body was found in the bedroom and the man was found in the living room.

Forensics experts are examining the scene and DCI Jones confirmed that post mortems will begin tomorrow morning.

Anyone with information is asked to contact local police on 101 or via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
