Here are a selection of upcoming events throughout the Northfield District run by rangers based at Lickey Hills.

Get outdoors in 2013!

Sunday 17th February 11am – 3pm – Guided Walk        
Waseley Wander
Lickey Hills Country Park
Burn off that seasonal excess on a winter’s walk There and back again following the route of the North Worcestershire Path. Approximately 6 miles in total, wear stout footwear and bring a packed lunch. Meet at Visitor Centre, Warren Lane, Rednal, B45 8ER.

Thursday 21st February 11am -12:30pm
Northfield Local Explorer – Guided Walk
Come and join the Northfield Constituency Environmental Forum for a family friendly half-term walk. We will be walking from Balaam’s Wood LNR to Hollymoor Park taking in the Great Park lake on the return journey. 
The walk will take around 11/2 hours at a gentle pace and will be on pathways suitable for buggies and wheelchair users. Meet at the entrance to Balaam’s Wood Nature Reserve on Rubery Lane

Saturday 30th March 11am – 12.30pm
Lickey Hills Geology – Guided Walk        

Lickey Hills Country Park 
Join the Geo-Champions for a 1.5 mile guided walk back through 488 million years of geological time. Discover Barnt Green Quarry’s secrets and find out about the making of the Lickey Hills. Meet at Visitor Centre, Warren Lane. 
The walk is free, but please call 0121 445 6036 to book a place. 

Thursday 11th April 11am – 2pm
Northfield Local Explorer – Guided Walk
Roman Camp, Millennium Green 

Come and join the Northfield Constituency Environmental Forum for a family friendly half-term walk. The circular walk follows the Birmingham & Worcester canal to Wast Hill Tunnel then over to the Fields Millennium Green where spring flowers grow in abundance. The walk is 4 miles and will take about 2 hours. Meet at the car park of Kings Norton Recreation Ground, off Pershore Rd. near the library. 
Bring a picnic to eat at the Millennium Green picnic site if the weather allows! There is a Natural Play area for children near the picnic area.
