UPDATE 1.30am 15/1/13 – According to his granddaughter, H has been found safe and well in Birmingham City Centre! He was cold and confused and is being taken to hospital by police.

Readers report police helicopter and officers searching areas around Northfield / Longbridge.

We have been told (by family members) that a 74 year old man is missing.

His name is Harry Ford but he prefers to be called “H”. He lives in Northfield, close to the Conservative Club.

He was last seen this morning when he went out to go shopping.

He was wearing a combat coloured cap, blue coat and beige trousers.

If you think you have seen H at any time during today and this evening, please contact West Midlands Police on 101

    Very much appreciated. Would also like to apologise to all that were trying to sleep and couldn’t due to the helicopter, I’m sure he will get an ear bashing once discharged from hospital.
