As part of the United Streets of Birmingham campaign, Northfield firefighters are getting on their bikes this week.
The campaign is run by Birmingham Community Safety Partnership which includes West Midlands Police, Birmingham City Council, West Midlands Fire Service, Primary Care Trusts, Staffordshire & West Midlands Probation Trust and the Third Sector Assembly who all work together to ensure a high-visibility presence across the city.
Firefighters from Northfield Station’s White Watch will be out and about cycling in the South Birmingham area this week in a visible attempt to help keep our communities safe. They’ll be looking out for safety issues which they can then work with partners to solve. Issues such as fly tipping, poor rubbish disposal, general poor house keeping, bonfire building, unsecure empty properties and areas where security could be improved with preventative measures such as fence or lighting repairs etc
The fire officers will be cycling the following areas between 10am and 2pm this week – keep an eye out for them, say hello and let them know of any issues:
Monday 29th Oct Woodgate area
Tuesday 30th Quarry/Rubery
Wednesday 31st Kings Norton
Thursday 1st Nov Staple Lodge area
Friday 2nd Willetts Road
