Bournville College reopened this morning, with staff and students returning for the first time since the serious incident on Friday where a 17 year old male was stabbed.
Longbridge Neighbourhood team’s Acting Sergeant Karl Pierpoint visited the campus this morning to provide support. He said that in the College’s 31 year history, this was the first incident of this nature. He said this was an isolated incidence and wanted to reassure the community that Longbridge is a safe ward. Neighbourhood officers remained on campus today to offer support and reassurance, alongside the college’s regular security staff.
A 22 year old man appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court this morning after a teenager was stabbed in outside Bournville College in Longbridge Lane on Friday (12 October).
He is charged with Section 18 wounding [with intent] and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He was also charged with attempted wounding.
The 17-year-old victim remains in a stable condition in hospital following the incident outside Bournville College.
