Eighteen year old Stuart Green last week raised almost £500 for a leading cancer charity by completing a 100 hole golf challenge.

Golf mad Stuart completed the challenge by finishing his 100 holes at Lickey Hills Golf Club last Thursday. The feat took him 14 hours, starting at 4.30am and finishing at 6.30pm and walking over 30km.

Stuart had already had to postpone his event, originally planned for two days earlier, due to the bad weather. Luckily, the day went well with just a couple of showers, although the course was still very wet.

Stuart is a member of Rose Hill Golf Club and also works in the MyTime Golf shop at Lickey Hills after completing his A levels at Waseley Hills High School this year.

Stuart said: “I selected Cancer Research UK as over the past 12-18 months I have seen many people whom I know be affected by the disease either directly or indirectly and the effect it has on their lives.”

At the time of writing, Stuart had raised £499 in sponsorship from fellow golfers, golf shop customers and online. If you wish to add to his total, you can sponsor him on Just Giving www.justgiving.com/stuartgreen2012
