Northfield Councillor Reg Corns (Con) hit out at contractors Amey in comments to the Birmingham Mail.

Citing Houldey Road in West Heath as a prime example, Cllr Corns has bemoaned the standard of repairs made to pavements in Northfield ward.

Amey, who hold the contract for highways maintenance for Birmingham City Council until 2035, told the Mail that the work was of the required standard.

  1. When have the repairs been any good? They have always been poor quality.

    Just like the road resurfacing, 3 to 6 months later it’s falling apart.

    Everything that is contracted out is done on the cheap by contractors.
