From West Mercia Police:

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a bicycle was stolen while the owner rested by a tree.

It happened at about 3pm on Wednesday, 23 May, at the Lickey Hills Countryside Centre in Warren Lane, Lickey.

She had ridden up to the Lickey Hills and decided to have a sit down. She rested her bike up against the tree next to her and was approached by two males who stole it. She gave chase but they were too quick for her and got away. They were last seen heading down Drovers Way towards Rose Hill.

The black, white and lilac ‘Specialized’ bike is worth about £800.

The offenders are both described as white, between 16 and 18 years old and both were wearing dark-coloured hooded tops and jeans.

PC Matt Hunt said: “We would like to hear from anyone who saw the bike being taken or knows who the offenders are.

“They may try to sell the bike so we would urge anyone who is offered a bike for sale similar to the one stolen to call us as soon as possible.”

Owners are reminded never to leave cycles unattended outside, even for a short time.

A number of companies offer security marking and registration which enables bikes to be returned to their owner if they are stolen. For more information visit the ‘Advice Centre’ pages of the force website at www.westmercia.police.uk.

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact PC Hunt on 0300 333 3000, quoting incident 416-S-230512, or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
