Active community member John Scott has died at the age of  87.

Mr Scott passed away last Thursday at his home in Loynells Road, Rednal where he had lived for almost sixty years with his wife Ethel.

John established the Loynells Residents Association which was one of the first ever neighbourhood watch schemes in the West Midlands. He was still chairman up until his death and worked closely with West Midlands Police for many years.

John’s funeral will be held next Thursday 7th June at 12 o’clock at Lodge Hill Crematorium in Weoley Castle.

His family have requested family flowers only and will be collecting donations to the Air Ambulance – a collection plate will be available at the cemetery or donations can be sent direct to Mortons Funeral Directors marked for John Scott Air Ambulance.

B31 Voices sends condolences and best wishes to John’s family and friends.
