Rubery based A Trek for Owen have organised yet more fantastic fundraising activities including two auctions with amazing celebrity lots.
A Trek for Owen was established to raise money for the Aplastic Anaemia Trust in memory of the late Owen Evans who died of the disease in 2010 aged just 9 years.
Not content with raising a whopping £6,500 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital when Owen’s school friends and their families took part in BRMB’s Walkathon last year, Team Owen when on to organise A Trek For Owen. Owen’s mother Susan, family friend Lexi Sutton and Beaconside school headteacher Paul Freear will be walking the Great Wall of China later this year to raise funds.
In support of the main fundraising event, the team have already staged other fundraising activities such as a disco at his junior school, the sale of wristbands and a live band night.
Funds from these events plus online donations mean that Team Owen have so far raised an amazing £6,498 toward their £10,000 target.
After months of collecting auction lots, A Trek for Owen have just launched their amazing online auction. Lots include a McLaren F1 shirt signed by Jensen Button and Lewis Hamilton, a Brazil football shirt signed by Pele and signed memorabilia from Muse and Duran Duran.
If nothing there takes your fancy, how about a three course black tie dinner with entertainment and charity auction at the stunning Moxhull Hall Hotel in Sutton Coldfield? Tickets are limited and cost £45 and you can reserve yours by email.
