West Mercia Police are appealing for information following the death of a man on Friday night.

The collision happened in Kendal End Road at Cofton Hackett, near Barnt Green on Friday, 4 November, at about 11.05pm.

The accident involved a blue Peugeot 206 and an orange Volkswagen Beetle which were travelling in opposite directions.

The female driver of the Beetle and her male passenger, who are both in their late teens, were both taken by ambulance to the Redditch Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

The male driver of the Peugeot, who is in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

He has not yet been named by police.

The Worcestershire coroner has been informed and an inquest will be opened in due course.

The road was closed until around 3am.

Sergeant Steve Hastie of West Mercia Police said: “A man has tragically lost his life and our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

“An investigation has been launched into how and why this collision occurred, and we are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact us on 0300 333 3000, quoting incident reference 780-S-041111.
