Refuse collectors for Birmingham City Council are due to take part in industrial action this week.

The workers will strike on Friday 18th November and Monday 21st November.

Negotiations are ongoing to try to prevent the action.

If your collection is due on Friday or Monday, the council’s Waste Management team ask that you place your rubbish at the edge of your property at the usual time. If the strike goes ahead, leave the bags there and they will be collected as soon as possible.

Also, a reminder that this week and next week are the last green garden waste collections before they stop for winter. The garden waste collections will recommence in February and Waste Management suggests that you either take any green waste to the Lifford Lane recycling centre or store them until February.

If you have any questions or concerns about refuse collection, visit the Birmingham City Council website or call 0121 303 1112

  1. I hope they all get sacked. They’re reaping the fruits of historical greed &selling out their council comrades a few years ago when they accepted an illegal deal & broke the 2 day strike action. They deserve what they get. They do a useless job at the best of times, they’re ignorant & rude & deliberately offensive.
