Crowds gathered in the Co-op car park on Rubery’s main street new Road this afternoon for the switching on of the town’s Christmas lights.
Entertainment was provided by singer Pippa Langhorne and her dog Buddy (of Britain’s Got Talent fame) along with locals Chloe Barry, twins Sophie and Laura Shaw and children from St James’ School choir.
Santa mingled amongst the many locals who had turned out for the show on a fairly warm and dry November afternoon, chatting with children and handing out sweets.
A town crier announced a representative from Primrose Hospice to the stage before the lights were switched on by Bromsgrove District Council leader, Councillor Caroline Spencer assisted by two children selected from the audience.
