From Birmingham South Police:

TWO TEENAGERS are due to be sentenced tomorrow after being convicted of attempting to murder a father and son in West Heath earlier this year.

A 15-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man were arrested following the incident, on Alvechurch Road shortly before 10pm on Saturday 21 May.

Martin Thompson, aged 53, and Edward Thompson, 18, were injured in the incident, which happened as they attempted to intervene in a disturbance outside of their home. Both men suffered serious stab injuries.

Both teenagers were charged with attempted murder and later pleaded guilty to the offence of wounding. They will appear before Birmingham Crown Court for sentencing tomorrow, Wednesday 12 October.
