Fundraiser for the Leaps and Bounds Appeal – towards the building of the new animal hospital and rehoming centre in Frankley

TV star Adam Rickitt and Maggie the puppy Border Collie raise funds for the RSPCA in Birmingham city centre.

FOUR legs will be better than two for the first ever Birmingham Mail Doggie Half Marathon to raise money for the RSPCA.

Ex-Corrie star Adam Rickitt and his dog, Rufus, will take part in the event to help the charity’s Leaps & Bounds Appeal for £3 million to build a national animal centre and hospital in the city.

The sponsored walk will be held in four parks across Birmingham on October 30.

  1. is it not cruel making dog walk 13 miles its not natural few yrs ago the RSPSA banned people from running marathons with their dogs as it was causing them distress esp ‘ during the hot weather

    • The Birmingham Mail article says: “In the dogs’ event, the 13-mile distance will be halved.
      Walkers can cover as much of the 6.5 mile course as they want” so I suppose you just do as little or as much as is appropriate for your dog :)
