Proposals for a Business Improvement District (BID) in Northfield have been launched this evening.
The launch event was held in Northfield Shopping Centre where representatives of Northfield Town Centre Partnership, local business owners and politicians met to view and discuss the proposals.
The town’s 220 businesses will vote on whether they support the proposal in a postal ballot between 26 September and 27 October 2011.
The BID will see Northfield businesses working together to secure a sustainable town centre with more prosperous businesses.
It will be a business-led partnership, working to improve the town centre environment with targeted street clean-ups and more events. It is hoped that this will lead to improved perceptions and increased turnover for local businesses.
The BID will also provided an effective, united voice for local businesses and a forum for better communication and trouble-shooting of problems.
