West Midlands Police have today released a picture of a man they are eager to trace for questioning in relation to the murder of 63 year old David McArthur on Monday.
The body of Mr McArthur was discovered at his home in Woodbroke Grove, Northfield on the afternoon of Monday 22nd August. His family have described him as “the nicest man you could wish to meet and would never harm a fly.”
The man police are searching for has been named as Florian Baboi , a Romanian national known to have links in the West Midlands, particularly in West Bromwich, and in London. He was last seen in West Bromwich. Police wish to trace Mr Baboi, also known as Jildow, urgently.
A post mortem earlier this week revealed that Mr McArthur died as a result of blunt force trauma. No motive has yet been established.
Detectives investigating the murder of a 63-year-old Northfield man have released a picture of a man they urgently wish to trace in connection with the inquiry.
Florian Baboi, also known as Jildow, is wanted for questioning over the violent death of Mr David McArthur who was found beaten to death on 22 August 2011 at his home in Woodbrooke Grove, Northfield, Birmingham.
DI Wayne Jones, leading the investigation, said “The motive for the attack on Mr McArthur is still unknown. The victim may have possibly known his assailant but all other lines of inquiry are being pursued.
“What is clear is that Mr McArthur was subjected to a sustained and ferocious assault and we need to trace the offender.”
