‘What’s All This About a Bridge?
For younger people, the Bridge Centre is their youth club. To the older community, it’s an invaluable meeting place.
Everybody needs The Bridge.
Then suddenly a property developer decides it would make a wonderful shopping centre… Only by working together, as a team, can the bridge be saved…’
Crossing the Bridge is a play collectively devised and performed by a cast of all ages, including residents from Northfield Constituency Tenant Group, pupils and staff from Frankley Community High School, members of Housing Liaison Boards and residents associations. We’ve even got a Birmingham City Council Tenant Participation Officer on stage! The script has been written and directed by Pro-Actors Ltd, based on the stories and experiences of all of the cast, as residents living in Northfield.
Crossing the Bridge celebrates our fantastically diverse and interesting community, but most of all, it is about teamwork and about how much we can achieve if we only work together.
“I’m delighted to be working in partnership with Frankley Community High School on this diversity project that is helping to engage young people in tennant and housing service involvement activities” Nadeen Justice- Tenant Participation Officer Birmingham City Council
“It’s really great for us to take Crossing The Bridge to a new community and help them tell their own story.” Pro Actors
