Following information provided by the local community, police were issued with drug warrants to search two properties in Tollhouse Road, Rubery yesterday.
The raids on “two heavily fortified premises” led to the seizure of thirty mature and a similar number of smaller cannabis plants, and a variety of weapons, including machetes, hatchets, hunting knives, swords and carving knives, from one property. A search of a second property revealed a small amount of cannabis.
A thiry year old man and a thirty-three year old man were arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and have since been released on bail.
Inspector Karen Greasley said: “These warrants were a result of intelligence and information provided by the community, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their continued support.
“By working together we can continue to take positive action to detect and disrupt those involved in drug related crime and make our communities a safer place.”
