Selected pupils from Frankley Community High School have been involved in an exciting community art project.

Year 10 and 11 Art and Textiles students, plus several ‘Gifted and Talented’ Year 8 and 9 pupils, have taken part in a week long project, learning about the true art of graffiti.

Pupils worked in small teams with their art teachers, PC Turner and four professional graffiti artists from Graffiti4 hire to create the mural alongside the Frankley shops. The art work is based on the local community and celebrating the local area, and includes the new Bournville College, Lord Lyttleton and a Mini.

The large scale piece of work demonstrates the exceptional creative talents of pupils at Frankley.  All of the pupils worked extremely hard to create the mural, despite the snow.  The artists involved in the project commented on pupil’s fantastic attitudes and enthusiasm.

The project was commissioned by Birmingham City Council, West Midlands Police and Wates Construction.
