Victoria School in Bell Lane, Northfield have won through to the final round of ITV’s The People’s Millions, where worthy projects compete for public votes to win a cash donation of up to £50,000 from the National Lottery Big Lottery Fund.
The school caters for physically disabled children and is hoping to secure the prize towards development of Greenspaces, a mini-Eden like project at the school, complete with its own Solar Dome. With smaller glass & willow domes, gardens, a sculpture trail and vegetable plots, the space would be used for a variety of educational and leisure activities including picnics, music, drama, relaxation and learning about the environment. This project would benefit pupils, their families and other groups in the wider community.
To win, Victoria School needs your vote! ITV Central News will show two contenders each day from Monday 22nd to Thrusday 25th November. The two projects will be pitted head-to-head for your vote and each day there will be one cash winner. Victoria School’s Greenspaces (pdf) will be up against Tamworth’s Fitter Futures project on Thursday 25th November. You can vote between 9am and midnight on this date, and there will be a feature on the two projects on Central News that evening between 6pm and 6.30pm. The phone numbers for voting will be publicised on the day via the People’s Millions website, The Daily Mirror & Central News and you can vote up to ten times from one number.
