We wrote yesterday about Victoria School’s success in reaching the finals of The People’s Millions and today Northfield MP Richard Burden has backed to the project.
Mr Burden has pledged to vote for the school in the public vote on Thursday 25th November and has written to constituents to ask them to join him. “Victoria School is in my constituency and I know the great work it does for local children with physical disabilities. Their ‘Greenspaces’ project is an inspirational idea – it is about exiting the children’s senses and giving them the kind of access to nature we often take for granted. It will also provide a real boost to their education in a very practical way and encourage them to care for the environment.”
“I am delighted that they are in the finals of The People’s Millions – and they deserve to win. I will definitely be voting for them on Thursday and I hope local people will tune in to see them on ITV Central News at 6pm and give the school their support.”
Victoria School’s Assistant Headteacher, Sandr Kallitsakis, is the Greenspaces coordinator and said, “Many of these children have never been able to experience being in a forest, in hills, on a beach, or even in the local park; all things that we take for granted. They deserve better. ‘Greenspaces’ will give these children safe access to the nature right on their doorstep.”
